In securing the Harriers FIRST WIN in eight  visits to these Championships the M60+ TEAM, with three runners to score, totaled 133 points [41+45+47] with 2nd placed EVAC 'first claim' team scoring 142 and 3rd placed Milton Keynes 146.

The result would have been desperately close but for the Harriers' third scoring runner BILL MORANT beating the third runners from the next  two teams by some ten places.                 

In  beating  unusually large opposition -  nine runners -  in the M65+ section ,BILL BILLINGTON'S win was another 'HARRIERS FIRST' for this event, while DENNIS GOUND faced a field of ten runners in taking the 'bronze' in the 60-65 contest.

Good packing, with four to score, secured second place behind Nene Valley for the Harriers in the M40+ contest while the M50 team, with three to score closed in fourth in their section.
