 The Snowdon Marathon has the reputation of being the hardest marathon in the UK and possibly the hardest in Europe. David Holt did particularly well therefore to get a pb (his last one being 3:27:00 which he set at Athens in 1999) and Noel Jones improved his best time by 10 mins over his run at Blackpool earlier in the year. Veronica Singleton who was running for her first claim club Les Croupiers was the 3rd LV45 in 3:52:17 and Viv Kilgour was the 7th LV40 in 4:04:36. Malcolm McEwen who has only been doing a limited amount of mileage this year finished in 5:32:24. Cliff Smith unfortunately had to pull out at 6 miles with an injury
