"This was the last race in the Grand Prix Series, which was being held at Milton Keynes Open University Campus. It had been very hot and sunny all day , and I was hoping that the heat would die down come the evening. However , race conditions were very uncomfortable , as although the sun had faded, the heat and humidity had increased. As such, it was very difficult to breathe during the race, and myself and the runners that I talked to afterwards struggled in the muggy and oppressive conditions. This is the first time I have ran this course, which follows the cycle routes around Milton Keynes, along paths , and up and down the subways. As such, I found it quite a boring and souless course, although it does have PB potential. There was one water point on the course at the half way point, and I made the mistake of throwing the bottle away. As the race wore on , my mouth got as dry as the bottom of a budgie cage and I stopped in the last mile to take a drink from a spectator's water bottle. 14 Harriers participated in the race, and we all found it uncomfortable in the heat".`
