Great Langdale Half Marathon

This was my first half marathon for a few years now and was by far the hardest half I have ever done.  To give you an idea of what it’s like, it’s comparable to the Grizzly but on road and without the obstacles.  Hilly is an understatement by a long way.

My time of 2.30.56 seems slow but when you look at almost half of the competitors were over 2 hours and then compare that to the Bedford Half where 73% finished under 2 hours, again which gives an indication as to how hard it was.  I am also chuffed as my longest run in the last 17 months has been 9 miles.  Apart from that distance twice the longest has been 10k’s.
