Noel Jones, Rob Bishop and Darren Miller ran the Steppingley Step on Sunday. It was a promising start weatherwise and we looked to be set for a great day out in the country. And so we were. A quick trip up to the top of Sharpenhoe Clappers to start with. Then over to Westoning and Steppingley and on to the more familiar territory of Millbrook via Breakheart Hill - a large wood. We then joined the Greensands Ridge Walk through Ampthill Park and on to Maulden Wood emerging into Clophill. By this time it had started raining but this didn't seem to dampen anyone’s enthusiasm. From here we went the long way around Silsoe to Pulloxhill and finally back to Barton-le-Clay. Another excellent event by the LDWA. Tea and a cheese roll or cake at the checkpoints and a hot meal when we finished.
