Official Result

Bob Wells 1.16.41

The longest local race I could find this weekend for my final RNR preparation was the 15km Trail du Bois d'Eaunes I managed (just) to run the whole course in 1:16:41 and was pleased to finish 33rd out 315 overall and 1st V3. (The 1st V2 only overtook me in the final kilometre.) I was very surprised to find I had finished ahead of Claude, a regular training companion, but it turned out that he had managed to go off course. This was a noteworthy achievement in itself as the race organisation was definitely in the Crane category.

My performance on two videos of the event will not win any oscars. There is a brief glimpse of a Harriers vest at 1:03 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bo2K2-FV1qc  and apparently I got to the half-way band before the cameraman of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5A1RPUNM5A.  However, the sound tracks of both convey something of the pleasant ambiance.
