Bedford Clanger

56 competitors took part in the "Bedford Clanger" on Saturday 7th April. The race reverted to it's smaller "Ultra" format for 2012. 41 competitors ran the 28 mile route while 18 ran the 17 mile route and 2 people walked the 17 mile route. All of the entry fees will be passed on to Sue Ryder St Johns Hospice and volunteers from the hospice were helping at the start/finish as well as at the checkpoints. My thanks to Keith Lakin, Alex Rothwell, Jen Lovesey, Mark Tinkler, David and Judy Prior, Rachel Beckett for their invaluable assistance and especially to Sylvia. We had home baked Bedford Clangers and I can now report that there are non left. ;-)

Congratulations to Ed Jones from Biggleswade AC who stormed around the 28 mile route in 3 hours 33, closely followed by John McBurney in 3 hours 46. On the 17 mile course Warwick Browning finished in 2 hours 14 with David Hutchings and Julie Wargent following in 2 hours 22.
