I had the opportunity to join 10
friends from Wellingborough & District Athletic Club (W&DAC) to take
part in the Enduralife Gower Trail Series event. One ran the Ultra (34
miles), one ran the marathon, two did the 10km with myself and 7
others ran the half marathon. The Enduralife Gower half marathon is
part of the Enduralife Coastal Trail Series (http://www.endurancelife.com/event-new.asp?series=70&location=179)
and has a rating of 4 - severe, so perhaps not the best trail half
marathon to run in November after all of the rain we had. The route
started atRhossili Village
Hall, Middleton, Rhossili and followed the coastal path and a few
hills towards Worm's Head into the village of Middleton and followed
the Coastal Path before
moving in land to further slippery ups and downs and finnaly across a
peat bpg before returning to the village of Middleton. Lots and lots
of steep hills, steep down hills, lots and lots of slippery mud trails
(even in trail shoes!) and lots and lots of deep puddles across the
peat bog. Great fun though and fantastic views. Not a course you would
run a PB! and many walked and toojk photographs. There seemed to be no
obession with time.
