On Sunday 5th April I
completed the 10km of the Northampton Running Festival. The course
was three muddy laps of the Delapre Park in Northampton. For those
completing the half marathon there were 6 laps and the full
marathon 12 laps. It was an on-the-spur of the moment decision and
although I had Stanwick 10km on Easter Monday, I felt 10km would
not be an issue. After a couple of days of rain, trail shoes were
the order of the day as about 300 runners ran along the muddy
paths and splashed through the puddles in the park. I completed
the 10km in 01:08:29 and was 6th in my age category.
