Une Foulée pour la Viele

Official Result

Bob Wells 1.24.46 - 19th

The 'Une Foulée pour la Vie' at Seysses on Sunday was rather different to a British 'Race for Life' although ultimately both have the same aim of supporting cancer charities. Possibly because of the French requirement for a medical certificate from all competitors, almost all the 1500 participants at Seysses were experienced runners.

Some 80% chose the shorter 10km race but, as part of my marathon preparation I opted for the 20km. Both races started at the same time and enjoyed a brief bright and sunny period in an otherwise wet and windy weekend. I was quite pleased with my 1:24:46 for 19th place overall.

It had started to rain again by the time of the 20km prize ceremony which was even more chaotic than usual French podium affair. In the confusion I was presented with a cup for 2nd geriatric but I can’t find a MV3 ahead of me in the official results. Perhaps my French language is even worse than I thought!
