Girton sits just off the Huntingdon Road on the outskirts of Cambridge and is
famed for it's College. The Girton 5km is organised by the Muddy Mucky Monkeys
and the first part of the route certainly lived up to the first word of the
hosts name. The first 2.5kms took us across flooded fields and along very
muddy, slippery, virtually single lane tracks so once you were behind someone
slow there was little chance of overtaking (hence my time). The next 1.5km to
4km took us along the guided bus route and then along a dry stoney path before
taking us onto the road for the last km. The reward for finishing was a
half-pint of local ale (Milton Brewery Pegasus Ale) and a £5.00 off voucher
from Advanced Performace when you spend £50.00, all for the princely sum of
£4.00 entry with my EA Registration.
