This 20 mile fell race sets out from Wooler on a loop that takes in the Cheviot (2676ft) and Hedgehope Hill (2348ft).  Heavy overnight rain had cleared by the start making navigation fairly straightforward & giving pretty much ideal running conditions - just a bit of light rain/cloud on top of the Cheviot.  Underfoot there was a bit of everything from the short road section at the start to trackless peat bog near the top.  Many found the steep pathless descent from the Cheviot towards Hedgehope Hill entertaining, some electing to slide down on their backsides!  Back at the finish there was a superb supply of tea & cake, the enjoyment of which was spoilt only slightly by the unwelcome attentions of the local midges.
