Having arrived in South Carolina to 84º of heat it was time to acclimatize
and shake off any jet lag before the race. We encountered a slight
problem with our numbers and had to get new ones. That sorted we decided
to do a reccy of the bridge. ... from below. Hitting the river in the
boat we sped towards the bridge to get the view from beneath, in our haste
we hadn't noticed that the waves were getting a bit more than "choppy" we
managed to stay afloat and avoided turning a10k into a duathlon. The
Cooper River Bridge Run is the 7th largest race in the USA and with well
in excess of 40, 000 runners it is very congested, this said, the
organisation and support is pretty good and I managed to get a good run
in. Finishing in a time of 53:32.
See you all in a couple of weeks.
