The race blurb promised a summer cross country and certainly delivered with a route that included jumping a ditch, parkland, cycle routes, country paths, wooded sections and open fields. A perfect option for our training group. The flat course twisted and turned around the park, crisscrossed the river at Eynesbury and the back of Eaton Socon, crossing over the lock at around 6 K. A great course if it hadn’t been for the heat and humidity and diving head first in to the nettles!! I must learn to pick up my feet! Ian Hammett had a fantastic run coming home second in 35:52. I think Richard Wild set a new PB, 43:43. It was good to see Amanda and Ben Friman racing again after 4 and 17 years respectively. Sadly Tony Jones and Lee Clarke did not finish due to injury. A lovely course and a very well organised low key event, I would definitely recommend running it next year. Beverley
