The Friends of Mick n Phil Half Marathon
This weekend saw the running of the Mick n Phil Half marathon "part deux". The
people of FetchEveryone.Com again gathered together to honour Mick, who pushes
his son Phil around many a marathon and half marathon course. Phil suffers from
Sodium Valproate Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. To date Mick and Phil have
completed over 200 half marathons and over 40 marathons together. You'll have
seen them at the Bedford Harriers Half Marathon and many other places. Proceeds
from the race will go towards helping Phil and others in similar situations.
Sylvia spent the early morning keeping the race director calm while handing out
chips. Having completely disregarded nutrition and hydration best practices (ie
fueled by a latte from the motorway services) she completed the half marathon.
It was a beautiful day - perfect for a stroll around the Draycote Water
reservoir, but perhaps a bit warmer than ideal running conditions. Well done to
Sylvia. Chip time 2:45:08.
