Race Report:

This is the second time ive run this race and yet again the near perfect organisation did not disappoint. Arriving in good time with a carful of hopeful runners we collected our numbers (with our names printed on them - nice touch) and had a quick chat with some of the fairly good numbers of Harriers present.

The weather (for me anyway) was pretty much perfect, cool, slight drizzle and grey skies. I tucked in close to the 1.45 pacer in hope! We took off pretty fast and it was great to see quite a few Harriers had also come along to take pictures and shout words of encouragement as we ran.  The first few miles were pretty nippy and then I managed to lose the pacer at around 6 miles on a hill, how careless of me. With regular water stops and great marshalling we ran through villages where the locals were out in force to cheer us on which really helped. Reaching ten miles is the best bit of this race - you know its all pretty much flat or downhill for the remaining three which gives you a huge mental boost. A final push - telling myself 'only a Parkrun to go' and I was over the finish line. As last year a nice technical long sleeved t shirt was the prize and a nice little goody bag also  (Haribo anyone?) Many Harriers achieved a PB on this race- highly recommended, but be warned, it sells out almost overnight!

A second PB of a fab weekend for me!  Chip time 1.47.09
