Dave Holt's running history suggests he is most at home trundling around
the Himalayan trails, the ''Grizzly'' or anything as far ''off-road'' as
possible. Of late however a turn of speed has surfaced, like today when his
39m 22s pushed him near to the top of the club's strong M50 section. Meanwhile
in the ladies' contest Shantna Dickenson ensured that the club figured amongst
the leaders with a commendable 8th place against real opposition.
With 917 finishers, support for this very popular race seemed unaffected by
a famous race up North. [Where else would you get a smart woolly hat in your
goodie-bag?]. Overall winner was Neilson Hall of Beds and Co. in an amazing
time of 32m 06s.
Rather damp cool conditions did not make for fast times, while the
catalogue of recent injuries and pre-race conditions cheerfully related by
most of the 14 Harrier veterans present would have filled a race
injuries handbook. However 15 of the 16 Harrier entrants ran and finished

Thanks everyone for an entertaining day, particularly my passenger for the
tea and cake and his company when in our euphoria[?] we even took the wrong
route to get home.
